Prof. Dr. Cengiz Sarıkurkcu who is Head of the Department of Basic Pharmacy Sciences in the Faculty of Pharmacy at AFSU was once again among the world’s most Influential scientists in the field of biotechnology.
The World’s Most Influential Scientists List that was prepared by John P. A. Ioannidis and a team of researchers led by the executive at Stanford University includes scholars in the top 2% of 22 departments and 176 sub-disciplines. After the calculations made in the light of scientific indicators such as the number of articles, h-index, hm-index of multi-author publications, citation/article ratio, two types of ranking lists were created for each scientist’s field of study, namely “Annual Impact” and “Career-Long Impact”. In the list where the publications of 2020 are listed according to these criteria, a total of 190,063 scientists were evaluated in the “annual impact” category while a total of 186,177 scientists were evaluated in the “career-long impact” category, where career analysis is made and the world’s most influential scientists are ranked according to the citation effect of the last five years of publications. While the list of the most influential scientists included 1,150 scientists from Turkey, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Sarikurkcu from AFSU was included in the list in 2020, as in 2019.
More than 3,000 references were made to Cengiz Sarıkurkcu’s 137 scientific articles, 3 of which were published in national journals and 134 in journals indexed in SCI/SCI-Expanded and his h-index is 33.
