AHSU Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Sarıkürkcü Entered the World’s Most Influential Scientists List

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş, gave a plaque to Dr. Cengiz Sarıkürkcü, Head of Department of Basic Pharmacy Sciences of AFSÜ Faculty of Pharmacy, who deserved to enter the list of “World’s Most Influential Scientists” in the field of biotechnology, which is the source of a research published in ScienceDirect PLOS Biology magazine.

The World’s Most Influential Scientists List was created by a team of US and Dutch scientists under the coordination of Stanford University, taking into account various scientific criteria. With the study evaluating the academic performance of 7 million scientists who have published at least 5 articles in their field, the most cited 100 thousand scientists were determined according to the information obtained through the “Scopus Summary” and “Citation Database” between 1996 and 2019.

After the calculations made in the light of scientific indicators such as the number of articles, h-index, hm-index of multi-author publications, citation / article ratio, two types of ranking lists were created for each scientist’s field of study: “Annual Impact” and “Career-Long Impact”. AHSU Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Cengiz Sarıkürkcü’s 116 scientific articles, 3 of which were published in national journals and 113 in journals covered by SCI / SCI-Expanded have more than 2300 citations and the h-factor is 30.
