One of our students from our Faculty of Medicine Furkan Utku Altınkaya, was adopted to Trainee Researcher Scholarship Program by TUBITAK, Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
1359 projects were included in the overall Turkey and Altınkaya, was one of 1,500 students whose application was accepted. Within the scope of the program, our student will be involved in a scientific study for 6 months and will receive a monthly scholarship of 750 TL.
The title of the project by is “Investigation of the Effects of Lactobacillus Plantarum Bacteriocin on Caco-2 Cell Line with Rotavirus NSP4 Protein” which is conducted by Şuhut Health Service Vocational School Instructor Merve Şen. Furkan Utku Altınkaya, who said that he had the opportunity to learn how to do academic studies and gain laboratory experience with the STAR Scholarship Program, thanked TUBITAK, our university and lecturer Merve Şen.
Before applying for the program, STAR candidates were asked to contact the executives of the projects supported by TUBITAK and receive an acceptance letter stating that they will take part in the project. Students who received a letter of acceptance were placed in the projects they wanted to take part in, in line with the quotas determined by the project coordinators, after the evaluation made based on the General Weighted Grade Point Average and University Entrance Ranking.
