Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Health to AFSU Health Application and Research Center

A certificate of appreciation was given to AFSU Health Application and Research Center by the General Directorate of Health Services of the Ministry of Health, as they have become hope for the patients who have been waiting for organs through organ donations within the hospital.

AFSU Health Application and Research Center management, intensive care staff and AFSU Tissue and Organ Transplantation Coordinator were honored with a certificate of appreciation by the Ministry of Health for their successful work in organ donations in 2020.

AFSU Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş thanked the hospital staff who showed success in increasing organ donation and the sensitive individuals who donated. Prof. Dr. Okumuş stated that the number of organ transplants, which fell last year due to the pandemic, improved in the first six months of the year, and also he pointed out that every year more and more patients are added to the transplant waiting list.

Prof. Dr. Okumuş stated that AFSU Tissue and Organ Transplantation Coordinatorship and all its employees continue to raise awareness about organ donation, and he said: “Each donor provides hope for the survival of at least five patients waiting for organs. There is a donation system to obtain organs from the dead or the living. At this point, more volunteers are needed for patients who have been waiting for transplantation. Our people need to act with the thought that one day they or their relatives may need an organ, especially at the point of donating the organs of their deceased relatives. We are very pleased to see that the sensitivity on this issue is increasing day by day.”
