Prof. Dr. Okumuş Accepted Our Proud Special Graduate Yoğurtçu in His Office

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş, accepted Betül Yoğurtçu, a graduate of our university, who made a name for herself with her success in the competition called “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”, in his office.

Congratulating our graduate for his self-confidence, determination and success in the competition, Prof. Dr. Okumuş wished Yoğurtçu success in her working life.

Stating that in our university, permanent and long-term studies are carried out for our special students and staff with the Accessible AFSU Unit, Prof. Dr. Okumuş said, “I sincerely believe that we will see many more graduates with special needs in the field of health sciences serve the society in all areas of life and in professional life.”

She left the audience in awe

Betül Yoğurtçu, a graduate of Atatürk Health Services Vocational School, Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques, with cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy), she impressed the audience not only with her success but also with her life story in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” competition.

Stating that she was born with cerebral palsy due to a problem at birth, Betül Yoğurtçu stated that her life has changed thanks to her family and doctors. Explaining that her illness made it difficult for her especially during her high school years, Yoğurtçu said, “It was necessary to focus on treatment at the age of growth. That’s why online education, which became widespread during the pandemic period, entered my life during high school,” she said.

Standing out with her general culture, Yoğurtçu said that she watches at least three movies a day and reads books all the time. Expressing that she got a good score in KPSS, Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, the host of the competition, who was impressed by Yoğurtçu’s life story and competition performance, said, “I congratulate you, Betül, you have set an example for everyone. You put on an incredible performance, good luck,” she shared. Yoğurçu, who participated in the competition from Afyonkarahisar, won 125 thousand liras in the competition.
