The first publication of the Publication Collection of AFSU Department of Library and Documentation, the book titled “A Gift to Esat Erenoğlu” met the readers. AFSU Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Nazan Eronoğlu Son presented the promotional copy of the study to our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş.
AFSU Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Assoc. Dr. Nazan Erenoğlu Son, gave information about the the book which was compiled by the articles written about Osmangazi University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Esat Erenoğlu and by the articles written by himself to our Rector Dr. Nurullah Okumuş.
Assoc. Dr. Son stated that Prof. Dr. Esat Erenoğlu was born in Emirdağ, Göğüş Plateau in 1927 and educated many scientists, physicians, assistants and students and passed away in 2010. Then she continued “This book has been prepared both to keep the memory of our deceased teacher alive and to contribute to the history of medicine by introducing him to new generations.”
Our Rector Prof. Dr. expressed that he was pleased to have such a book published by AFSU, which brings together the life story of a medical doyen from Afyonkarahisar, who achieved firsts and important achievements in his field, and what his students and colleagues wrote about him, Our Rector Prof. Dr. Okumuş also thanked Dr. Son and those who contributed to the publication of the book.
In the 129 page book, which is readable online for free, there are articles about Prof. Dr. Erenoğlu written by Prof. Dr. Tülay Sarıçam, Dt. Ahmet Ataç, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen, Prof. Dr. Sefer Gezer, Prof. Dr. Belgin Efe, Prof. Dr. Hikmet Hassa, Prof. Dr. H. Hüsrev Hatemi, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Korkmaz, Prof. Dr. Nesliar Eser Kutsal, Prof. Dr. S. Sinan Özalp and Ayfer Uğurlu, as well as his family members.
