We Attended International Investment Congress

Afyonkarahisar Medical and Aromatic Plants Industry and Trade Inc. (A Flora A.Ş.) opened a booth at Korel Thermal Hotel with AFSÜ as part of the Mysterious City Afyonkarahisar International Investment Congress. Many investors from 27 countries showed interest in the event, which started with the opening program attended by Our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş.

Afyonkarahisar’s economic, health tourism, historical and cultural potential was introduced in the opening program of the congress in which Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Deputies Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroglu, Atty. İbrahim Yurdunuseven, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Fatma Varank, Mayor Mehmet Zeybek, AKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karakaş, provincial directors, representatives from the corporate and business world, and many investors were present.

After the moment of silence and the National Anthem, a promotional video about Afyonkarahisar was watched. Then the protocol talks started. The first speech was made by Congress President Dr. Hamza Yusufoglu. Then Aziz Abd Hammad, General Manager of the Industry and Development Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Industry, gave a speech. After the speeches of the President of the Provincial Assembly Burhanettin Çoban, Mayor Mehmet Zeybek and Deputy İbrahim Yurdunuseven, Ali Şenol, Secretary General of Afyonkarahisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, made a presentation on Afyonkarahisar’s investment opportunities. Fatma Varank, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, said that Turkey is a serious attraction center for international direct investors with its wide production opportunities, qualified workforce, strategic location, modern logistics infrastructure, infrastructure that can meet every need and incentive packages.

Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu explained Turkey’s economic power in his presentation and stated that Afyonkarahisar is a safe harbor for investment. Expressing his pleasure to host the investors in Afyonkarahisar, Governor Gökmen Çiçek said, ““This is Afyonkarahisar, it has definitely embraced you and sees you as its brother.. Business world and business people alike. I hope your stay here will be productive and add value to our city, and I offer my respects to all of you.” he said.

Foreign investors were informed about the studies carried out by our university on health tourism and medicinal and aromatic plant production at the AFSU and AFLORA booths opened within the scope of the congress. Local and foreign business people participating in the congress also had the opportunity to examine the historical, cultural and economic values ​​of Afyonkarahisar on site with technical and touristic trips.
