45 million liras of funding was approved for the 100-bed Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (PTR) Hospital to be brought to Afyonkarahisar within AFSU. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş, who made statements on the subject, said, “May this good news we received on the days we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic be auspicious for all Afyonkarahisar residents.”
The construction work of AFSU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital, which is included in the 2022 Investment Programme of our university and whose application project has been completed, with 100 beds and 20,800 m2 closed area, has been allocated resources from the Investment Acceleration Allocation in order to start in 2023. Prof. Dr. Okumuş stated that the works for the realization of AFSU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital were started immediately and said, “I believe that our Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital, which will respond to an important need of our country, especially Afyonkarahisar and our region, will be a leading health facility with the rightful reputation of AFSU in physical therapy and the devoted efforts of our expert staff.”
Prof. Dr. Okumuş said: “I would like to thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Presidential Strategy and Budget Chairman İbrahim Şenel, relevant public administrators, department heads and development experts, Afyonkarahisar MPs Av. Ali Özkaya, Av. İbrahim Yurdunuseven and Dr. Hasan Arslan, who have been instrumental in the provision of this valuable facility to the service of our people, and all our staff involved in this process.”
What will happen in AFSU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital?
AFSU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital will have examination rooms, VIP examination rooms, cafeteria, CPR, injection room, bone densitometer, diagnostic ultrasonography and EMG. In the hydrotherapy and massage units in the project, there are 4 in-water exercise pools, 4 hot spring pools, 2 whirlpool baths, 6 VIP hot spring pools, 4 massage parlours with dressing, dressing, shower and resting areas offered separately for male and female use.
AFSU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital will include Physical Therapy and Electrotherapy Application Unit, Magnetic Field Therapy Unit, ESWT, Biofeedback Unit, Fluidotherapy Unit, High Intensity Laser Therapy Unit, Short Wave Diathermy Unit, Micro-wave Diathermy Unit, Spinal Decompression Unit, Sports and Conditioning Unit, Gait Analysis Laboratory, Passive-Active-Assisted Cycling Room and VIP treatment unit.
AFSU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital is planned to be equipped with 17 rehabilitation units including Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, Robotic Rehabilitation Unit, Paediatric Rehabilitation Unit, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Unit, Hand Rehabilitation Unit, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Unit, Electrotherapy Unit, Isokinetic Dynamometer Unit, Balance Rehabilitation Unit, Virtual Reality Rehabilitation Unit, Occupational Therapy Unit, Occupational Therapy Room, Occupational Therapy Room, Speech Therapy Unit, Lymphoedema Rehabilitation Unit, Occupational and Functional Rehabilitation Unit, VIP Rehabilitation Unit, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Room.
In addition to these service departments, there will be two classrooms for the use of assistants, rooms for lecturers, rooms for technicians and interns, rooms for technical and cleaning units.
