Our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş attended the 67th  Turkish National Paediatrics Congress held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as a session chair and the 3rd  International Palliative Care Congress held in Ankara as a keynote speaker.

Prof. Dr. Okumuş, together with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Satar from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, chaired the session where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senem Alkan Özdemir presented “Current Approach in RDS Treatment; What Has Changed Since 2019?” and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yağmur Baş presented “Current Recommendations in Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Prevention and Treatment” at the 67th  Turkish National Pediatric Congress.

Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Bükülmez, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Tolunay Oflu and Research Assistant Dr Çisem Karasoy from AFSU Department of Child Health and Diseases also participated in the 67th  Turkish National Paediatrics Congress, where conferences, courses, panels, oral and poster presentations on basic issues related to child health were shared with the scientific community. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oflu was awarded the best poster paper award with her presentation titled “Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio, Red Cell Distribution Width and Mean Platelet Volume as Practical Markers in Febrile Seizure Classification”.

In his opening speech at the 3rd International Palliative Care Congress organised by the Federation of Health Associations, Palliative Care Nurses Association and Palliative Health Services Association in Kızılcahamam, Ankara, our Rector Prof. Dr. Okumuş informed the participants about the studies carried out on palliative care services at AFSU.

Our Academician Received the Best Poster Paper Award

Assistant Director of Şuhut Vocational School of Health Services, Lecturer Kevser Pamuk was awarded the best poster paper at the 7th International 11th National Psychiatric Nursing Congress.

At the congress held in Ankara in cooperation with Lokman Hekim University and Psychiatric Nurses Association, she was the first name “Does Cognitive Behavioral Art Therapy Practice Change the Perception of Femininity in Women Diagnosed with Gynaecological Cancer? Case Presentation” received the best poster presentation award.

In the award-winning study,  her  thesis under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysel Karaca from Düzce University Department of Psychiatric Nursing, two cases who underwent surgical operation due to uterine and ovarian cancer were discussed in the group work carried out in AFSU Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic.
