“AFSÜ GençFest 2024,” held at Zafer Health Campus, began with a festival parade in which our Rector, Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş, joined the staff and students accompanied by a band as part of the celebrations for the 6th anniversary of our university’s founding.
Prof. Dr. Okumuş visited the stands of student clubs, organizations, and partner institutions at the AFSÜ Ceremony Grounds and engaged in conversations with the students managing the stands about their activities following the parade. Later, Prof. Dr. Okumuş expressed the joy and pride of celebrating AFSÜ’s anniversary during the same dates as the national “Youth Week” events, which mark the 105th anniversary of Atatürk’s arrival in Samsun on May 19, 1919 during his opening speech.
Prof. Dr. Okumuş said, “You are the pride of this nation. You are our future.” By addressing the students on-site. He also highlighted that both our country and AFSÜ are doing everything possible to provide students with opportunities.
AFSÜ GençFest 2024 was Organized for You to Gain New Motivation and Enthusiasm
Prof. Dr. Okumuş continued: “I hope you can unwind after the academic year and gather energy for the upcoming one with the rich content of AFSÜ GençFest 2024. I also wish that our friends who will graduate and embark on their career journey this year can create cherished memories from this event.
Universities are not only institutions that produce and transmit knowledge but also ones that develop their students and society socially and culturally. This event was organized to bring new motivation and excitement to you, the students of AFSÜ, and to our esteemed academic and administrative staff.
I would like to thank all my colleagues and students who contributed to the realization of AFSÜ GençFest 2024. In particular, I want to congratulate the entrepreneurial members and advisors of our student clubs and communities, who continue to improve and enrich their activities with each passing day. I also extend my gratitude to our partner institutions and sponsoring companies for their significant support and collaboration in making this beautiful event possible.”
On the first day of AFSÜ GençFest 2024, there was a DJ performance by Emre Karakurt and a Percussion Show, followed by a concert by Mary Jane Group in the evening. After watching the concert, our Rector Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş thanked the group members and presented a gift to lead singer Eslem Kozpınar.
Zafer Health Campus hosted various activities, entertainment, and concerts, supported by both student clubs and partner institutions as part of AFSÜ GençFest 2024 throughout the week.
