We Ranked Among the Top 10 State Universities in Learning Experience Satisfaction

The success of various studies conducted at AFSU continues to be confirmed by independent research organizations. According to the “Türkiye University Satisfaction Survey – 2024” (TÜMA) report, AFSU achieved the remarkable accomplishment of ranking 10th in the “Learning Experience Satisfaction” category among 126 state universities.

According to the research conducted by the University Research Laboratory (ÜniAr) with 50,414 students studying at a total of 200 universities—126 state and 74 foundation universities—during the 2023-2024 academic year, AFSU ranks 57th among state universities in the “Overall Satisfaction” category.

According to the report, AFSU’s most significant achievement was in the field of “Learning Experience Satisfaction.” In this category, which measures students’ satisfaction with course content, the attentiveness of faculty members, the validity of exams, the student-centered environment, and the teaching methods and approaches in classrooms, AFSU climbed to 10th place among 126 state universities, marking an important milestone. Among all 200 universities, AFSU ranked 26th in the same category, rising 20 places compared to last year and 86 places since its founding.

Another area where AFSU excelled was “Personal Development and Career Support.” In this category, AFSU ranked 27th among state universities, showing significant progress in students’ satisfaction with career guidance, personal competency development activities, student-oriented courses, employment expectations, and support. Compared to its founding year, AFSU jumped 28 places in this category, ranking 48th among all universities, maintaining its position from last year.

The Role of Quality Assurance in the Increase in Satisfaction

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Nurullah Okumuş, stated that the rise in student satisfaction with their experiences at AFSU, both compared to the founding year and the previous year, was significantly influenced by the increasing momentum of quality assurance efforts at the university.

Highlighting that AFSU’s student-centered teaching approach played a key role in all of the university’s successes, he said, “Our students actively participate in the learning process through various methods such as problem-based learning, professional skills training, evidence-based medical practices, project work, case discussions, technical trips, and scientific research projects.”

Expressing his satisfaction at seeing the positive results of the dedicated work in AFSU’s academic and administrative units, reflected in independent evaluation reports, he added, “I believe we will continue to see the impact of this progress in different areas in the coming years. I extend my gratitude to all our staff and students for their contribution to this success.”
